Accessibility Statement
Effective November 8, 2026
Simply Beautiful by Shirl wants every visitor to be able to read about our services and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page describes what we have done so far and how to reach us if something is not working for you.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We treat accessibility as an ongoing part of maintaining the site rather than a one-time check.
What we have done
- The page uses semantic structure: one main heading, headings for each section, lists, landmarks, and a skip link to the main content.
- Every control is a real button or link, works with a keyboard, and shows a visible focus outline.
- The inquiry form has labels on every field, clear required markers, and error messages that are linked to the fields they describe and announced to screen readers.
- Text and background colors are chosen to meet the WCAG contrast ratio for normal text.
- Images and illustrations have descriptive alternative text, and purely decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology.
- The photo gallery opens in a dialog that traps focus, can be closed with Escape, supports arrow-key navigation, and returns focus to where you were.
- The site respects your operating system's reduced motion setting. When it is on, the snow, blinking lights, floating ornaments, animated scene, and smooth scrolling are switched off and the content stays fully readable.
- Layouts work at phone width and at high zoom without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
- The 3D ornaments and animated holiday scene are decorative only and carry no information. If they do not load on your device, nothing is lost.
- Inspiration images in the gallery show styling ideas; their descriptions are brief by design.
